The Chinese Shandong Iron and Steel group (SISG) is based in Jinan, China. SISG is owned by the provincial government of Shandong. In 2015 SISG took over the Tonkolili iron ore mine in Sierra Leone. The Tonkolili mine was founded and initially developed by African Minerals Ltd.
