African Minerals Ltd (bases in London, UK) is a mining company that has been investing in the development of the Tonkolili iron ore project in Sierra Leone. It is said that the Tonkolili project holds Africa’s largest iron ore deposit which is supposed to be the world third largest deposit. During the Ebola crisis that struck Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia heavily, the African Minerals operations became affected by the the poor economic outlook at the time. As a result African Minerals was forced to let SISG get control over the Tonkolili iron ore project.
